Research
Six areas, one mission: trustworthy AI with real impact
From foundational methods to deployment. Our researchers advance Machine Learning, Data Science, Robotics, NLP, Multi-Agent Systems, and Optimization.
Two complementary lenses. LIACC organises its work along two axes. Research areas are the methods and disciplines listed below — Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Intelligent Robotics, Intelligent Simulation, Complex Systems, Declarative Programming and Software Engineering. Thematic lines are the application domains where those methods create impact — Health, Smart Cities, Industry & Services, Public Administration, Infrastructures, Entertainment and Human/Machine Interaction. A researcher or project usually sits at the intersection of both.
