Our commitment

We target WCAG 2.1 AA conformance across the whole site, in both light and dark themes and in both languages (PT-PT / EN).

What we audited (June 2026)

  • Colour contrast. Every body, muted, label, and accent text pair was measured against its background in both themes; all meet or exceed the AA threshold (4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for large text and UI).
  • Keyboard navigation. The primary mega-menus open on focus and report a truthful aria-expanded state; the report's table of contents is a keyboard-operable drawer that traps nothing, closes on Esc, and returns focus to its trigger.
  • Visible focus. A consistent :focus-visible ring is applied to every link, button, and form control.
  • Semantic structure. One <main> per page, labelled <nav> landmarks, a skip link, and a single ordered heading outline.
  • Icon controls & forms. Icon-only buttons carry aria-labels; every form field has an associated label and an explicit consent checkbox.
  • Motion. All transitions are disabled under prefers-reduced-motion.

Known limitations

  • Some historical PDFs linked from publications may not be fully tagged. Alternative formats are available on request.
  • Embedded third-party content (e.g., maps) inherits the accessibility of the underlying provider.
