Sono ao Volante 2.0 is a research project at LIACC, the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science of the University of Porto. An information system to predict drowsiness at the wheel and detect chronic sleep disturbance or deprivation.

About Sono ao Volante 2.0

Sono ao Volante 2.0 predicts drowsiness at the wheel and detects chronic sleep disturbance or deprivation. A wrist device captures heart rate via photoplethysmography (PPG), blood oxygen (SpO₂) and motion (accelerometer/gyroscope); these signals drive continuous monitoring and an alert when the driver is forecast to show signs of sleep.
